The
Proposal

My subpar drawings still take a lot of effort!
Mark and Ben hard at work in the Togglemedia studio.
THE PROPOSAL: After receiving the comic book when leaving work that day Trina thought we were to have a picnic and head off to see the Spiderman 3 premiere.  (You are seeing how the comic book played into keeping things a surprise!)  When she arrived at my place my roommate Kenneth informed Trina that I was “setting up the picnic” across the street at the park.  When she arrived I proposed to her with a complete surprise - with a picnic that comprised of champagne, chocolate fondue & fruit, and a custom designed ring - 10 weeks in the making.  I anticipated her wanting to call those close to her - and contacted those friends who are closest to her, both of our parents, and my close guy friends to meet us at dinner at the place we had our first date!  She said “YES!” and was amazed by the whole night! (May 4th/07)
THE COMIC: From a boy’s perspective, the proposal is a time for creativity and a chance to show the world how much he loves his girl.  The Little Miss Butterfly comic was made with both Trina and I as characters, but only with our combined powers could we defeat the enemy - tying in the promise outlined as we began our relationship - two people having more impact as one.

ASKING FOR HER HAND: A nervewracking experience, but I tried to make it fun by bringing caffeinated beverages for the whole family (it just happened to be Trina’s mom’s birthday).  I also wanted to defy convention a bit and ask not just dad - but the entire family because I value all of their blessings.
On a mission of love...
CHEERS!
The point of no return...
Sweaty palms?  Nervous?  YES!
